Supports for adults with autism

Autism supports do not end at 18. Adults may want help with communication, daily living, work readiness, mental health, or living arrangements. The CDC notes that autism supports should be individualized across the lifespan (CDC, Autism Spectrum Disorder). Crimson Heights offers adult autism services, ABA, outpatient therapy, and psychological testing at all eight clinics, with adult residential support in Utah only.

Overview

Clinical services for adults

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), outpatient mental health therapy, family therapy when appropriate, occupational therapy, IOP, and psychological testing—including autism testing—are available at every clinic. Therapy for co-occurring anxiety, depression, or trauma may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or other listed modalities.

Overview

Living supports by state

In Utah, adult residential support and DSPD Certified Residential Support are published pathways. In Nevada, ADSD Developmental Services may authorize Supported Living Arrangement (SLA); ATAP is for children under 20 and is not an adult living program. There are no Arizona or Colorado clinics.
