Nevada Supported Living Arrangement (SLA)

Supported Living Arrangement (SLA), also discussed as supported living services, helps a person with an intellectual and/or developmental disability live in a community setting when authorized through ADSD Developmental Services and the Person Centered Plan. SLA is not assisted living for seniors. On this site, SLA and ATAP are the ADSD-related pathways described for Nevada.

Overview

How authorization works

Eligibility is determined by ADSD Developmental Services through the correct regional center—RRC for Mesquite and Moapa Valley/Overton, or DRC for Las Vegas and Henderson. A Service Coordinator helps with referral and linkage. Services are delivered as authorized in the Person Centered Plan (PCP), also called an Individual Service Plan (ISP).

Clinic services alongside SLA

Regular Crimson Heights clinical services—therapy, ABA, IOP, occupational therapy, family therapy, in-home supports, and psychological testing—remain available at every Nevada clinic and are not automatically the same as ADSD-funded SLA. Ask intake which funding applies to each service.

Common questions

Is SLA the same as assisted living?

No. SLA is an ADSD Developmental Services supported-living pathway for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, not senior assisted living.

Does Crimson Heights decide SLA eligibility?

No. ADSD and the regional center determine eligibility. Crimson Heights discusses fit and capacity after a referral or authorization is in motion.

Can someone on SLA also receive ABA?

Possibly, when separately authorized. ABA may use ATAP, Medicaid, or other funding. Intake helps separate the pathways.

Are Jobs and Day Training included here?

This website does not claim Jobs and Day Training, respite, family support, host homes, or shared living as ADSD services for Crimson Heights.
